These words rang in my ears like never before. I searched for Vuvuzela and Jabulani when the commentators and newspapers were talking about these...
The world's most spectacular event has begun. More than 3 billion people are expected to watch this game...and i am also a part of this world cup...for the game, for the world!
Vuvuzela's are making hell lot of noise inside the stadium (equally outside throughout the world as the creator of vuvuzela is making enough profits with orders from several countries pouring in by the day and the players complaining about the distraction and the disturbance caused by it).
As for Jabulani, only Adidas can give the answer to its creation as its the official supplier of footballs to FIFA. Players, coaches and everyone is complaining about Jabulani because they haven't got used to it yet and the technical excellence in making the football has turned into a challenge for the star players as well... (Jabulani is a Zulu word meaning 'to celebrate' in line with the world cup football fever).
With the third round about to begin, there aren't any great matches going on inspite of big names in the form of players donning their home country jerseys... The game isn't the same as what it was in 1998 or 2002 or 2006 where so much art work was on display with players and teams. Few years back one got to see every corner kick being turned into a goal but in the current tournament, not even six corners are enough to make a single goal, that's how things have turned up badly for the teams... The competition has turned very tough in both the ways, trying to kick jabulani into the goal post and also defending oneself from the attack from the opponents... Christiano Ronald was a good target in Portugal's first match. He got more kicks from his opponents than the number of kicks he could deliver the jabulani.
There are no tactics or skills on display in this tournament, such as dribbling the ball, volleying, body swerve, close control, etc. Ronaldinho and Ronaldo of Brazil are true great players who've handled the ball pretty well giving a treat to everyone with the display of amazing skills of their legs making through all the players in every match...
This tournament is all dull 2010. Interestingly, the so called weak teams are posing a great threat to the champion teams.... France is already out... Who's turn is next to exit? Wait and see...FIFA 2010!
"For the Game. For the World." (Official slogan of FIFA World Cup)
Hope everyone gets the message to their heart...
