Elections India!

Of the tens of festivals of multiple religions that India celebrates, Elections is considered as one religious festival where people of all religions, caste, creed, etc etc etc that India is and absolutely everyone come in front to vote for a leader. Obviously this festival is restricted only to people who have attained 18 years of age. Today the first phase of a five phase election kicked off in a grand style witnessing empty roads, shops closed, tight security with continuous patrolling, people of all ages enthusiastically standing in queues but still mumbling over petty things out of habit and almost all the offices including software companies have been forcibly ordered to declare a holiday in order to cast their valuable vote.

I have no idea as to how many people will utilize their voting power but yes, i have seen change among the youth, the educated middle class who are not merely the driving force that India is riding on but are the suffering class of a mass act and the middle class is the one voting category which will make a big change in this elections.

Thanks to the election festival that there is no religion attached to voting although few croocked politicians and parties do bank upon the minorities and all those underprivileged and deprived class luring them with sops of unimaginable benefits which they themselves dont know whether they will really see them in real or not. But yes, there is a change one gets to see in the people.

I felt happy to have gone through the roads of my city, Hyderabad, and witnessing so much interest in the people who are standing in long queues unmindful of the scorching heat outside.

This election is a huge manoeuvre, a big management task vested in the best hands the country can get, the Election Commission of India is really doing a fantastic job in fact.

One more important thing one gets to see is, there are no flags or no banner or badges of any parties one gets to see.....its free and fair elections in the making. Hoping so.....only time will tell.

May 16, 2009 is the counting date. The day when the fate of The India will be decided by The People of India.

Change? For Good.
