Traffic chaos and woes

Off late, i've been moving around my city on a two wheeler only to avoid any kind of inconvenience in meeting my time schedules. Apart from the growing traffic on the roads, the 9am to 7pm traffic takes most of the time on the road. I mean most of the people on the roads, in the buses, two wheelers or four wheelers spend their time, making their way through the traffic during these peak hours. This is the usual case with major cities in India...

What I've observed [a common sight in most Indian cities]:

1. The 'n' number of potholes on the roads created by the government is taking life out of people, increasing health hazards in the form of severe back pains [when a two wheeler has to make its way through the holes in order to move in front or wise get struck in it...] making the back bone take most of the weight and thereby back problem, a forced poison... mental tensions with the growing traffic... polluting the breathing space with enough poisonous gases and thereby effecting the lungs and health directly...a slow poison in the making...when the hair is exposed to polluted air, it only adds up to a bald head in the making and the enormous amounts of fuel being wasted on the roads while waiting for their turn to move...will make the oil wells go dry quickly than imagined.

2. Even someone who is following traffic rules is not spared by anyone who is driving on the roads because there is no guarantee that someone who follows road rules will not meet with any accident or will not die. Jumping signals, overtaking from the wrong direction, cutting across the road without warning...all these only lead to an unnecessary chaos and a dangerous precedent as one does so does the others follow the one on the road. This is the natural law. It's mostly the educated who act uncivilized on the roads.

3. But its that most of them are eager to reach their destination, unmindful of what's happening on the road besides them, not even giving a way to the ambulances these days. When an ambulance gets struck in traffic, its always the vehicles standing in front of it and standing behind it which try to take advantage of the moment and most of them seem to have lost the basic education of mercy towards a fellow human being, values which differentiate a human being from a wild animal, everything literally seems to be heading towards a wild horizon, adding chaos to an uncivilized confused society.

4. Traffic junctions have turned into beggars paradise these days. With lots of beggars presenting their natural skills in acting, the best means of earning an income at the mercy of someone is the order of the day. The situation is such that a guy sitting in a pretty Mercedes Benz doesn't have enough change to give to anyone. But i've also seen few drivers who are kind enough to give a rupee or two when some beggar turns up at the traffic signals...But i am a bit choosy when i have to give something to a beggar, its always the old people and handicapped who get my first preference and also it depends on the change available in my pockets which decides. Begging has turned into a profession, a non taxable profile.

5. I've seen all the buses in Hyderabad bulging out with people foot boarding including women during office hours [morning and evening], with no option left in their lives to reach their offices and homes...its really a pitiable state. How one has to fight their way to get into and out of the bus every time...its horrible journeys...and everyone is stranded for hours on compulsorily when traffic jams... and it is also that I've seen some people standing at the bus stops at major junctions [including women] even after 10 pm [Hyderabad doesn't have a night life nor does this city runs 24 hours jobs except for the BPO's which have pick ups and drops during night times which does not comes into the count]... life only seems to be more challenging apart from the job life and personal life...struggling through the traffic, making way to meet things face to face and then winding up the day, only to meet the dreaded next day in waiting... life seems to be heading nowhere, except that everyone is living for the sake of living. Just like that.

6. Honking is such a bad thing that it only shows the intensity of restlessness. When there is no enough space between a vehicle and another vehicle, then why the heck does one honks for no reason? Does honking make a vehicle move? I only laugh at the fools who think they have all the right to eat others lives...I feel pity of all the stupid souls which think so...dogs save these nerds.

7. When someone has to pass through this trauma, day in and day out, unmindful of whose life is involved...it's that everyone is equally responsible towards the society and no one can escape stating any kind of reasons of escapism, whatsoever...

Time seems to be the biggest killing factor. No one has time for anything in this world. Everyone is busy trying to meet their life which does not happen until someone is lying flat, motionless, already dead [one never realizes that one is dead]. The pain only turns more painful and it has become such an integral part of one's daily life that pain seems no more because pain has become life. There is no way of escape. Everyone is a scapegoat in the modern civilization. Everyone is equally responsible for whatever is happening in this world.

Traffic is only a small part of the big problem. The list goes endless...

Note: Health does deteriorates as time flies by and one has to spend more money in improving ones health if one keeps driving through the potholes because of the unavoidable friction. The government has to realize the fact that if good infrastructure is in place like good roads, more trees, traffic rules as a compulsory education...can make a difference...

Note: This can happen only when governments think about its people rather than few people managing the government in the guise of politicians. Dogs save the world.
